Dr Chopra Bsc (Hons) MBBS DRCOG MRCGP
Member of practice since 1994
Interests within the practice: I am interested in all aspects of General Practice. Being a female GP, I see a lot of Women's Health and Child Health, but as I have been in the Practice for a long time, I am fortunate to see a wide variety of chronic conditions as well which span all age groups and both genders, and have known some of my patients for many years.
I job- share with my husband, Jonathan de Kretser. This helps with caring for our four children, whose lives seem to be busier than ours!
With Jonathan, we are the practice leads for coronary heart disease and related conditions. I am also the practice lead for Safeguarding.
A really enjoyable aspect of my work is in the training of junior doctors who want to become GPs. At any one time, Jonathan and I are responsible for up to two trainees. This keeps me on my toes and up to date!
Additionally, I work for Wessex Deanery as a Dorset GP Appraiser.
I feel very fortunate to work in this well-organised practice, with a fantastic and committed team of clinicians and staff.
Outside of work, I am kept busy with my children. I love to cook, and play tennis as often as I can. I play the piano, and play in a little band at our church with my family and friends.
Dr Chopra will be retiring 3rd March 2022
Dr Chopra has been at this practice for many years, and would like to pass on her very best wishes to all of her patients. We are sad to see her leave and wish her a happy and healthy retirement.
